When a parent resents parenting a GENDER…it’s straight up poor parenting. Gender is a construct so are these ideas that boys like trucks and girls like dolls. When my son was younger he loved Dora. I bought him Dora toothpaste for his stocking. Wanna know how it was labelled in the store? GIRL TOOTHPASTE…I’m all for women’s healthcare and acknowledging our bodies have different needs…but I pulled aside a manager and asked “so what makes this GIRLS toothpaste and can I not buy it for a BOY?” He said it was just the colours and the cartoon. I responded, “oh! So it’ll clean the teeth of boys AND girls (or any child)?” To which he replied, “of course!” I left him with this thought, “Then one sticker probably would be sufficient. Just “kids toothpaste” instead of assuming parents don’t know what cartoons or colours their children like.” Loving your children means being the first place they feel seen, supported and understood…not resented. #parenting #parenthood #parents #girl #girldad #boymom #psychology #mentalhealth #healthyfamilies #mentalhealthawareness #love #family #support #safety
